The general opinion among Christians today is that the final end cannot be that far off, perhaps not more than a few years from now. But should we really expect this to come upon us so soon?  The answer is available if we believe that God has given a prophet to the end time church whose writings are with us today.

In Early Writings (E.G.W) there is a chapter with the title "Subsequent Visions" where we can read up on page 34 what happens in the camp of the persecuted saints during the final hours of earth' history.  The deliverance of the saints is elaborated on in some detail, and on page 35 where the return of the Lord is described, there also is a reference point in time, 'Then commenced the Jubilee, when the land should rest'.  In other words, the Lord will return to redeem his followers in the year of the last Jubilee.

Now we only need to pin point when the next jubilee is going to be.  Once that is established, then we know the year in which the Lord comes back to receive us home.  The last recorded jubilee is given at this web site (LINK), it was the year 572 BC.  The next jubilee after that must have been 50 years later in 522 BC.  500 years later in 22 BC would have been the last jubilee before Christ. Going forward in time another 50 years takes us to 29 CE.

If we assume that a jubilee always starts in the fall, then the one which began in 29 CE was very special, because 6 month later in 30 CE Christ was crucified.  It is remarkable that this happened at the midpoint of the jubilee year. Please note, the last recorded jubilee of 572 BC supposedly is accurate to plus or minus 1-year, so that the crucifixion of Christ could have also been in 31 CE.

From 29/30 CE moving ahead 2000 years takes us to the final jubilee in our time which is the year 2029 (or perhaps 2030).  There could be another jubilee 50 years later but that would take us beyond the 6000 year time span allocated for the history of mankind.
